Interoperability Enables Meaningful Use

Meaningful Use

eMTS is a member of the Health Story Project promoting standards-based interoperability with your EMR/EHR systems. Document interfaces meeting HL7 CDA (Clinical Document Architecture) standards enable your organization to leverage current dictation practices toward Meaningful Use.

In addition to HL7 CDA, eMTS can accommodate a vast array of interface requirements, leveraging your ADT data and uploading to your clinical and repository systems. Once a secure network is established (VPN), we exchange interface specifications with you, configure the resources and test the interface.

Data Exchange Protocols

  • IP socket (preferred) - "real-time" (typical for HL7)
  • Windows share - batch
  • FTP - batch

Download ADT from Clients

We work with you to determine which patient/encounter fields are needed to satisfy the look of documents and your host system (if an upload is to occur).

Format

  • HL7 2.2/2.3
  • ASCII delimited or fixed-width field

Upload Reports to Clients

Full report upload and/or update messages for deliquency tracking.

Format

  • HL7 3.0 - CDA (Clinical Document Architecture) - XML
  • HL7 2.2/2.3 - MDM or ORU - ASCII or RTF
  • XML (other than CDA)
  • ASCII/RTF/Microsoft Word - text (other than HL7)
